PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Rhode Island Statewide Coalition, which bills itself as a non-partisan, but center-right organization, has lined up two speakers for its winter meeting: a former director of the state GOP and the radio talk show host who emceed former Republican Mayor Steve Laffey's last major political announcement.

The speakers will be Jeff Deckman, former GOP executive director and organizer for the new RISC Business Network; and John DePetro, WPRO-AM morning talk show host.

Coalition chairman Harry Staley urged "anyone interested in reform of the state's tax, budget and business sector problems to attend.''

The event will be held Saturday, at 9 a.m. at the Hyatt Regency Newport on Goat Island.
