PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Now that he is back in the spotlight running for a job he proposes to abolish -- lieutenant governor, Cool Moose Party founder Robert J. Healey is also mounting an "e-mail this to your friends" campaign which he believes may catch on "in this year of anti-incumbents.''

He calls it: "Just pick two.''

He explains, "I cringe when people say vote out all the incumbents...[because] there are, believe it or not, some good people in government and they should not be [thrown out like] the proverbial baby with the bath water.''

Suggesting each voter pick two they would like to keep in office, he says, "I actually have a few incumbent officials I think worthy of re-election. I know that if pushed, I could whittle this down to two. That done, I could feel comfortable in voting for the two incumbents while voting out the rest of the dead wood.''

When asked, however, which two he would keep, he responds, "Who's staying?''

He is no fan of term limits, by the way, because he believes "the voting public should be allowed to be as idiotic as they choose to be. The continual election of the same people is a self-created problem that needs to be solved by thinking minds in an election booth. To tell people they cannot vote for a person's re-election smacks of elitism.''

Healey estimates he spent $20 to launch the Web site and e-mail chain.
