Woonsocket to vote in mayoral primary Tuesday

WOONSOCKET, R.I. -- Polling places will open at 8 a.m. Tuesday for the non-partisan city primary election that will winnow the four-man field of mayoral candidates to the two who will face off in the November election.

On the ballot are retired police officer Todd R. Brien, City Council President Leo T. Fontaine; developer Steven J. Lima and Navy retiree Michael A. Mello. The top two finishers will be on the November ballot to see who will succeed Mayor Susan D. Menard, who is not seeking reelection..

Polling places in the city will be open until 9 p.m. will be located at :

Dist. 1: Crepeau Court - 100 Front St.
Dist. 2: John F. Kennedy Manor - 547Clinton St.
Dist. 3: Park View - 218 Pond St.
Dist. 4: St Stanislaus Parish Hall- 188 Harris Ave.
Dist. 5: Fairmont Heights - 525 Second Ave.
Dist. 6: #2 Fire Station - 5 Cumberland Hill Road
Dist. 7: Sacred Heart Parish Center - (Entrance on 3rd Avenue) 415 Olo St.
Dist. 8: #1 Fire Station - 169 Providence St.
Dist. 9: Our Lady Queen of Martyrs School Hall - 1371 Park Ave.
Dist. 10: Bemon Heights School- 657 Logee St.
Dist. 11: St. Agatha's Church - Basement Hall- 34 Fairfield Ave.
Dist. 12: Woonsocket Senior High School - 777 Cass Ave.
Dist. 13: Chief Gerald P. Landry #4 Fire Station - 806 Mendon Road
Dist. 14: Leo A. Savoie School Cafeteria - 990 Mendon Road
Dist. 15: Morin Heights Hall - 66 Morin Heights Blvd.
Dist. 16: Governor Pothier School - 420 Robinson St.
