Rifuture.org, the political blog aimed at the state's progressive community, has been sold.

Owner Patrick Crowley, an assistant executive director of National Education Association Rhode Island who bought the blog less than a year ago from founder Matt Jerzyk, announced the move on the Web site this afternoon.

Crowley has declined to say who bought the blog -- or release any terms of the agreement -- until Aug. 26, when he will formally announce the new ownership.

"I can tell you that the buyer is a Rhode Island based business person with strong ties to the activist community," Crowley wrote in an e-mail to The Journal late this afternoon.
