PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- A day after settling on Oct. 7 and 8 as the days the House of Representatives will reconvene, House Democratic leaders have decided to delay the return by one week.
The new plan calls for the House to return Oct. 14 and 15.
The agenda has not yet been announced.
House spokesman Larry Berman said a decision was made Friday to delay the return to business by a week because one key committee chairman, whom he would not name, was unavailable on the date chosen.
Senate leaders have not yet announced if and when they will return to consider judicial nominations and the unfinished business they left when they went on hiatus in late-June.
