ABC World News visited Rhode Island Wednesday for a special segment on the federal stimulus package, which took effect 100 days ago.

Governor Carcieri, who was initially critical of the massive federal spending plan, was interviewed for the segment this afternoon, according to the governor's spokeswoman Amy Kempe. The film crew also visited a Department of Transportation project in Tiverton, the stite of Rhode Island's first official stimulus-related project.

The segment is supposed to air on ABC World News Wednesday night.

So far, Kempe said, the state Department of Transportation has signed 15 separate stimulus-related projects worth approximately $20 million since President Obama signed the stimulus package into law.

Under the act, Rhode Island will receive $138 million in direct funding to support 50 transportation and infrastructure projects across Rhode Island, according to the governor's office.
