Governor Carcieri will participate in a conference call with Vice President Joe Biden Tuesday afternoon to discuss the particulars of the federal stimulus package.

The call will also include the governors of Georgia, Maine, Missouri and Illinois.

"President Obama has appointed Vice President Biden to oversee the stimulus program, and this is a conference call by invitation of the vice president," Carcieri spokeswoman Amy Kempe said. "[Biden] is the point person in Obama's administration who oversees this, so I think it's good to have communication."

Kempe said the call has been billed as a chance for governors to ask general questions about the plan.

But don't expect too many answers. The call is scheduled to last only a half -hour, from 12:30 to 1 p.m.
