PROVIDENCE, RI --The state Republican Party released a bulletin this afternoon asking people to clear Friday, April 17, for a special event with a special guest. Former New Hampshire Governor John Sununu, the father of the recently-ousted U.S. senator with the same name, will attend the Rhode Island GOP's spring fling at the Providence Biltmore. The party will offer a photo reception from 6 to 7 p.m. and a general reception from 7 to 9 p.m. No word yet on the ticket prices for the fundraiser. The party says it will be sending out invitations soon. Sununu served as the Granite State's governor from 1983 to 1989. He served as President George H. W. Bush's chief of staff from 1989 to 1991. |
