WASHINGTON -- Sen. Sheldon Whitehousehas joined the growing legion of politicians, including President Obama, who are going directly to constituents by Webcasting. The Rhode Island Democrat has produced a brief Webcast in which he describes his experience at Mr. Obama's gathering of about 150 lawmakers, business leaders and medical experts at a health care meeting last week in the White House. The conference, he says in his Webcast, was "amazing.'' In fact, as dedicated Net surfers know, the president's conference -- including its sub-conferences of several smaller groups of those assembled that day -- was itself Webcast. -- John Mulligan, Journal Washington bureau |
