As promised, Lt. Gov. Elizabeth Roberts has launched a section of her Web site devoted to answering questions about the COBRA subsidy that's included in the federal stimulus package. Unveiled at a news conference this morning, the site, ltgov.ri.gov/cobra/ provides information to those who have lost their jobs and may qualify for employer-based insurance under COBRA, the federal law that allows laid-off workers to purchase group health benefits through their former workplace. Information about COBRA benefits and other self-pay insurance options is also available on the Web site of the Rhode Island Health Insurance Commissioner.

The office of Liz Roberts is IRRELEVANT. She contributes nothing up there. Is not taken seriously by the public. Presents like a phony when she is interviewed. The place is burning down and where has she been? Travelling to Sinapore or China or something. Trying to upstage the Gov over the snow storm. She is devisive and should be dismissed.

Dear Lt.Gov Roberts.I have been unemployed since april 2008.for the first time in my life. Which happens to be 54 yrs. I do not qualify for the help with cobra payments, for I was unemployed before september 2008. I am single trying to hang onto a house I have been in for over 30yrs. while being a single parent of 2. while paying for their school, along with mine. Who and why came up with the date of help starting in se.2008. while in R.I. the unemloyment rate has been longer than sep.2008 thank you Dianne B.
