WASHINGTON -- Sen. Jack Reed and several colleagues have canceled plans to travel to southwest Asia this week with vice president-elect Joseph R. Biden Jr. Reed said this afternoon that most of the senators planning to participate in the bipartisan tour with Biden will stay in Washington instead because the Senate has scheduled a series of important votes this weekend. -- John E.
