Cicilline has been invited to the White House tomorrow by President Barack Obama and Vice President Joseph Biden as the Obama administration launches a new initiative designed to help working families, the mayor's office announced this evening. The event is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. in the East Room of the White House, Cicilline spokeswoman Karen Southern said. The President is expected to formally launch the Middle Class Task Force, an initiative he announced during his transition that will be chaired by the Vice President Joseph Biden with the goal of strengthening the middle class, Southern said. In an invitation to Cicilline, a representative from Vice President Biden's Office said the president and vice president are excited about the initiative and "are looking forward to bringing everyone's voice to the table."
