Governor Caricieri and his wife, Sue, will attend Tuesday's Inauguration Day ceremony in Washington, the governor confirmed today.

The Carcieris will fly to Washington, D.C., on Tuesday morning and return that night, said the Republican governor.

"It's traditional that all governors attend the inauguration," spokeswoman Amy Kempe said of the trip.

Kempe said the govenor will also pay a visit to the East Greenwich High School band, which is marching in the inaugural parade.

No word yet on whether General Assembly leaders will attend, though they have canceled the day's legislative sessions to free up members who plan to travel to Washington.

I just think it is wonderful that it is traditional for the weakest states governor and his missus to attend Obama's inaugural, "Don" being a Republican and all. It is great to see that the "Don" and lady "don" can at least not have to sit home and watch like most of the "Dons" fellow rhode islanders. Who said that little rhody is broke and that everyone must suffer, make the hard choices, etc. Way to go "Don", lead by example again.

As if anybody would notice he was there? As if anybody notices Rhode Island exists? As if this state has anything to offer anybody? Why would someone come here? To a state where the population is so BLINDLY Democrat that neither side notices or cares? Even when the Democrats held their convention in Boston the Rhode Island contingent sat om the back of the room. Why? Because this state is so bent on the Democratic ticket that the party knows it and realizes they don't have to pay attention because it's a knee jerk thing for the people here. And the Republicans don't bother for different but similar reasons. So why are the Carcieris bothering to go? As if they matter to Obama? I cannot wait until I find a job anywhere else and can leave this hole in the wall once and for all.

ProJo reports that our RI Governor Don Carcieri is planning to attend the Obama swearing in as US President next week in Washington DC.

As governor of a State Mr. Carcieri (like all house and Senate members, including from RI) has the ability, "standing", during the election process, to have questioned the credentials of Mr Obama as to his eligibility for the Office of president of the united states, per the prescribed requirements in the Constitution of The United States and law.

We have learned through the new Forth Estate in the US (still free and independent Internet based press news services & still free and independent internet web radio broadcasts) supplementing the previous main stream media / MSM, that several recognized experts & scholars of The US Constitution still question Mr. Obamas qualifications to meet the requirements specified by our US Constitution for the office of president of The United States! They further report that Mr. Obama, during the period of the 2008 election process, has failed to adequately provide appropriate documentation to address and or resolve these questions & concerns! Last, today several different challenges to the validity of Mr Obama to hold the Office of president of the US are continuing to be filed in our court system by several different – very diverse & independent citizens groups. Yes, with several challenges appealed all the way up to our Supreme Court of United States. It has been reported that the volume of challenges at the various state & federal levels has not yet subsided. The new forth estate reports that our Supreme Court of The United States is yet to accept & completely examine one of these very serious citizens appeals!?

Again, the House and Senate members and our Governors (all with standing in the election process and courts) - we must be concerned if some elected officials and or even a co equal branch of our Federal Government perhaps going along to get along and or gaming the game? The question is, if true; will such neglect to properly address such issues result in both a further weakening of the office of president of the United States and or a further soiling of our constitutional Republic based on a Representative Democracy based on the rule of law.? Yes, while the future of our country might be hanging in the balance?

To retire these very serious concerns and issues even still remaining at this very late juncture from the recent 2008 election process we very respectively suggest that Mr. Obama and the highest court of the land - Supreme Court of The United States collectively adjudicate and retire these very serious citizens concerns.

As we now address the plethora of man made challenges to our country & confluence of events - May God continue to protect us from our enemies both internal & external - Bless and keep our country.
