PROVIDENCE -- Governor Carcieri will have a State House press conference next week to unveil the details of his "Rhode Island Business Economic Stimulus Package," according to an invitation sent to business leaders this week.

The event will begin Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the State Room.

The governor's office would not release any of the details.

"This initiative stemmed from the meetings the governor had first with small business owners and subsequently with the lending community," Carcieri spokeswoman Amy Kempe said. "The result will be a number of initiatives to get small businesses access to capital. There are multiple components to the package."

The unveiling will be held on the same day, by the way, as an all-day orientation session for the 23 newly elected legislators to the General Assembly.
