What a fraud Gov. Beffudled is! After six years of being the most incompetent governor in our state's history, he's finally come up with an alleged "economic stimulus package?"

This is the same Gov. Befuddled whose presided over the fiscal and economic destruction of our state, who has opposed every significant economic development proposal, and who now, after one meeting with business leaders, has come up with an "economic stimulus package?"

The RI media is definitely a minor league backwash, just as the PawSox are to the Red Sox. It is unimaginable that not one media outlet in the state has challenged Gov. Befuddled on his incompetent stewardship in leading to the state's economic freefall. I know RI media is minor league training for alleged journalists who want to move into the Boston and NY markets, but it really is pathetic that they let Gov. Befuddled use one meeting with biz leaders to try and fool the public that he's involved in creating ANY economic stimulus package.

Are there no major leaguers in the RI media? Is no one going to challenge him?

Governor Don Carcieri to not cause this mess in RI. Even with the 6 years of hard work and progress much more needs to be done.
The perfect storm of the economy melt down is what Don Carcieri is next trying to respond to.
What we need is TEAM WORK and collaboration / cooperation rather than the mindless and ill conceived negative BLOS what we need is constructive comments and ideas.
Yes, the free lunch of 70 years is now officially over. Please get off your backside and join the reform team. That is contribute to your capacity and capability.
Rather 70 years of pseudo socialist liberal left largeness and union client provider utopia coupled to a soiled social fabric is the cause.
This mind set and behavior must be modified. That is your institutions no longer work. You are no longer viable as a workable entity. You are economically, morally and socially bankrupted. You have chased out the companies, venture capital and highly skilled creative employees. Today RI is a third world banana republic that your most recent governor Don Carcieri is trying to turn around.

Don Carcieri has by inches over 6 years made piecewise improvements to the underpinnings of RI government. This has been done with very little assistance or support from the RI General Assembly and its entranced employee unions, lobbyists or client provider community bleeding the state treasury.

The next two years agenda should see the elimination of the unworkable and unaffordable state employees pension system. The next two years should see the reform of the entire cost model & structure and delivery of education.

The next two years should see the reform of our model for structure and delivery of services
such as fire, police, DPW DOT et al. Again we mist rationalize and reduce employee wages to market rates.

The State of RI population is clearly lacking talent and vision including in its General Assembly. Moreover its citizens on the whole lack the necessary training and education to compete in the global or national economy. As such not only the children education is a challenge but the adult work force
requires a massive re training and adult education program. Only then will job opportunities be available as the national economy is reset.
So please make your decision to help or get out of the way.

Governor Carcieri must make his own proposal on how to solve the existing economic breakdown in is place. Stimulus package may be advantageous especially for the low-income family. But for sure it will be just for a moment. Human instinct and conscience is developed in order to be used in an upright manner. Anyone is aiming for an almost perfect economy but how could we achieve it if many people are wondering if they’re going to get a stimulus check. Knowing that is the reason why there are some stimuli scams starting to pop up. Ads promising extra funds from the economic stimulus package, but requiring a fee to get the know-how are the usual stimulus scams. These scams can run people dry if they get their hooks in deep enough. If you get an e-mail from the IRS (supposedly) that asks for any personal info so you can get stimulus money, this may just be a trick.
