PROVIDENCE -- The governor's office says it will release a quarterly report Monday that details tens of millions of dollars in departmental overspending. The report, due to be publicly released Nov. 15 (which is Saturday) according to state law, lists personnel costs and other spending for all state departments projected through the end of the year compared to what was adopted in the official state budget in June. Carcieri's office issued a press released earlier in the week suggesting the state's current-year deficit -- estimated at $372 million -- was exacerbated by "$37 million in other projected spending." The report is expected to detail that spending. |
