During his first news conference since Election Day, President-elect Obama sought to clarify perhaps one of the more pressing issues on the minds of voters.
The dog.
Tuesday night during his victory speech at Grant Park in Chicago, Barack Obama told his daughters, Sasha and Malia, that they have "earned the new puppy that's coming with us to the White House."
The soon-to-be first family's dilemma, Obama said this afternoon, is this: Malia is allergic to dogs, so the family is considering several hypoallergenic breeds.
However at the same time they hope to adopt a shelter dog, which could be a challenge because many dogs found in shelters are mutts, the president-elect said.
"Like me."
