Secretary of State A. Ralph Mollis will appear on CNN Radio to talk about how Rhode Island is preparing for what could be a record voter turnout in next week's presidential elections.

Recorded by phone this morning, the interview could appear on as many as 2,000 stations across the country in the coming days -- most of them far from the Ocean State.

"I told CNN that Rhode Island is prepared with more polling places, more poll workers and enough ballots to serve every one of the state's 701,000 eligible voters," Mollis said.

The interview came a day after the secretary of state unveiled a plan to ensure that voting runs smoothly on Election Day, despite the largest-ever list of registered voters. That approach will include printing hundreds of thousands of extra ballots, opening more than 550 polling stations and launching a public service campaign informing Rhode Islanders that their polling place might have changed.

Mollis spokesman Christopher Barnett reports that some Rhode Islanders can catch the interview on WTKK -- "Boston Talk Evolution" -- at 96.9 FM or on the Web at www.wtkk.com.
