Think the state has a hiring freeze? Think again.

Providence Mayor David Cicilline's sister, Roberta Cicilline-DiMezza, started work at the State House today in her new job working for the General Assembly, which is out of session.

In a brief telephone interview she said that she had been hired as an "administrative assistant to six legislators'' from West Warwick, Glocester and Coventry. House spokesman Larry Berman said she will be paid approximately $34,000.

Her name last surfaced as a line item in one of her brother's fundraising reports. The report indicated that she had been paid $5,900 by the mayor's election committee for bookkeeping services.

The key words in this article,in my opinion, are "'...legislators from West Warwick...'" - one legislator, in particular, who has been salivating, again,in my opinion, anticipating the commissions he hopes to receive from, what no one will be surprised when it is announced ,his fiscal involvement with Prov.'s pension system. Not to be cryptic, but the position referenced is not the only one that a member of the Mayor's family has recently been given which was obtained ,again,of course , in my opinion, due to the intercession of this legislator.Mayor, can you say 'tangled webs' or maybe, more appropriately,'slippery slope'?

Again, a fish rots from the head down. How can the "Don" and his merry band of elf's allow this in his house? Way to go again "Don", how to show your constituents just how nice a guy you really are to those that can help take the heat off of you and your boners.

The legislature has its own budget which it can use as it sees fit.
