By John E. Mulligan, Journal Washington Bureau Some Rhode Island convention delegates put the speeches and the symbols into the context of a grand national campaign strategy. Some delegates put the same sights and sounds into the context of the neighborhood back home. State Sen. Juan Pichardo is in the second category. When Pichardo watched Sen. Ted Kennedy and Michelle Obama and the rest of the Democratic National Convention's opening night speakers here inside the Pepsi Center, he thought of his neighbors in Elmwood and the rest of his Providence Senate district. "The focus was on family and on what Barack wants the new policies to be and what the future bodes for all of us," said Pichardo. Pichardo said that message is "important because a lot of families in my district are struggling to make ends meet." CommentsLeave a comment |

The families on Pichardo's area are illegal aliens. Perhaps Pichardo should be pushing for every bill, every measure that will get every illegal out of here.
That way, there would be a surplus of jobs for AMERICAN families and there would be a surplus of part time jobs for AMERICAN families.
Pichardo and his far left cronies are part of the reason why some families are having a hard time.

Perhaps Roland should go back to school. He clearly does not know his history of America.
If he did he would know that all Americans other than the Native Indians were once Immigrants from other countries. Just Like the Immigrant we shamely call illegal Aliens to excuse our selfish hypocritical laws that clearly hurt those who are only looking to provide a better way of life for their Families just the way our ancestors did for us. I hope that Sen. Pichardo never listens to people like Roland. Rhode Islanders Deserve help no matter where the Came from.
