Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse favors a Senate measure that would sharpen the regulatory tools that can be used to discourage market speculation in energy products.
"Families in Rhode Island and across the country are having to choose between filling their tank and feeding their families; between heating their home and buying needed medicine. They're frustrated, and they're angry, and they're looking for solutions anywhere they can find them," Whitehouse said in a Senate speech. "We need real, common-sense solutions that can make a difference now."
I hate Big Oil as much as the next ex-stripper. But the specualtors ain't got nothin' on the price gougers. Start hunting the Big Game, Sheldon, or I'll have to start holding Rod Driver fundraisers.
