It was the Senate Finance Committee's turn yesterday to vote on the state budget after it moved to them from the House. From left, state Sen. Paul Moura, D-East Providence, committee member; Daniel Beardsley, executive director of the Rhode Island League of Cities and Towns, and lobbyist Christopher Reilly mull the topic. The finance panel then sent the $6.9 billion spending plan on to the Senate, which passed it last night. Governor Carcieri is expected to sign the $6.9 million spending plan today. And the General Assembly itself hopes to wrap up this year's session tonight.
