Many Massachusetts communities have their town elections in April. On Monday, voters in Rehoboth and Seekonk will go to the polls to choose selectmen, among other contests. In Seekonk, voters will decide on two initiatives: one to remove the town's residency requirement, the other to allow a surcharge on local property taxes to benefit community preservation. In Rehoboth, the selectmen’s race is 1 of 15 on the ballot. The other contested spots are two three-year term seats on the Dighton Rehoboth Regional District School Committee; a one-year position on the same school board; and a one-year term on the Planning Board. The elections have brought out varying opinions from many of our readers. To read Web-only Letters to the Editor, go to the Rehoboth and Seekonk pages, and click on the links. Why has the South Eastern Mass Police Chief's Association changed the locale of their annual clam bake from Francis Farm to the home of Fereirra? Could Norm Miranda have anything to do with that??
