Providence Journal/Mary Murphy
A local headquarters for the Barack Obama campaign for president has opened on the corner of Union and Westminster streets in Providence in the space used by Craftland during the holidays and the farmers market.
I read a news release regarding McCain on Associated Press (also on John McCain's website - http://www.johnmccain.com/Informing/News/NewsReleases/dfe04804-ca85-4845-a57d-171982daa210.htm):
"Hope, my friends, hope is a powerful thing," said McCain, who at 71 is a four-term senator from Arizona.
McCain cautioned: "To encourage a country with only rhetoric rather than sound and proven ideas that trust in the strength and courage of free people is not a promise of hope. It's a platitude."
John McCain is referred to as a "centrist" which is the same term I've heard Hillary Clinton referred as. The main difference between Hillary Clinton and Barack Hussein Obama, is that Hillary not only has proven herself over her years of experience, but she has a plan.
John McCain brought up a very interesting point about mere rhetoric, and the American people need to forget about race and gender, and pay attention to actual plans to address the issues.
