NEW YORK -- NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will meet tomorrow with U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter to discuss the Spygate case involving the New England Patriots. NFL officials say the afternoon meeting will take place in Specter's office. The Pennsylvania Republican has asked Goodell to explain his decision to destroy the tapes and notes from the case. Patriots coach Bill Belichick was fined $500,000 and the team was fined $250,000. The Patriots also forfeited a first-round draft pick. -- The Associated Press CommentsLeave a comment |

First and foremost, I want to know why our senators and congressmen are wasting time investigating sporting events when there are more pressing matters related to healthcare, tax relief, the economy and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Where are your priorities you so-called representatives of these United States? How about focusing on the important things for a change and let the sporting comissioners do their jobs?
