For the record, both the House and the Senate are returning for a one-day special session next week.
House leaders confirmed last week their plan to return for an Oct. 30 veto override session early. Senate President Joseph A. Montalbano, D-North Providence, did not confirm until Friday his plan to bring the Senate back on the same day.
Coincidentally, the Senate did not receive until Friday a letter from the courts officially nominating State House lawyer William Guglietta, a former state prosecutor and Democratic attorney general candidate, to the new $155,172-a-year post of a chief magistrate of the state Traffic Tribunal.
Legislative leaders have not yet disclosed their agendas for the day. But the Senate is expected to hold a confirmation hearing for Guglietta — and possibly other judicial appointments — during its one-day return.
The Senate is coming in at 3 p.m., the House at 4 p.m.
