Two days after the big-splash opening of Twin River’s 130,000-square-foot expansion, Cynthia Stern, vice president of the company that owns the Lincoln gambling hall, said her goodbyes. Friday was her last day. When asked about her departure, Stern said she submitted her resignation about three weeks ago to take a new job doing national and international public relations for the Cumberland-based Numark corporation. The company makes products for the DJ and recording industry and has a consumer line that includes CDs, DVDs, an “All-In-One Karaoke DJ Mix Station (with) User-Friendly Features Lets Any Karaoke Singer Shoot For ‘Idol’ Status” and the gadgets that allows music lovers to transfer their tunes from vinyl records to their iPods and MP3s. The company has offices in Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, Germany and the United Kingdom. Stern, a former legislative liaison in the attorney general’s office and account executive at the Providence-based RDW public-relations firm, said she appreciated the opportunities she had over the last year to be a part of the “re-branding and rebirth of Lincoln Park to Twin River. The challenge I undertook as a public relations professional was challenging and I am proud to have been a part of it.” But she said she couldn’t pass up an opportunity to do national and international press. “I felt like I have been well prepared by all of you,” she quipped. |
