Reed seeking interns for his R.I., D.C. offices

U.S. Sen. Jack Reed is inviting applications for fall-semester internships in his Rhode Island and Washington, D.C., offices.

A news release from Reed’s camp promised the chance to “participate in the day to day running of a Senate office and … a first-hand look at how the federal government works.”

The application deadline is Friday. Visit Reed’s Web site — reed.senate.gov — for an application.

The internships in Reed’s Cranston office are part time, and include constituent assistance, policy research and “special projects,” according to the release.

In Washington, full-time and part-time internships are available, and interns can expect to help research legislative issues, give tours of the Capitol, attend committee hearings and provide administrative support to Reed and his staff.
