U.S. Sen. Jack Reed is inviting applications for fall-semester internships in his Rhode Island and Washington, D.C., offices. A news release from Reed’s camp promised the chance to “participate in the day to day running of a Senate office and … a first-hand look at how the federal government works.” The application deadline is Friday. Visit Reed’s Web site — reed.senate.gov — for an application. The internships in Reed’s Cranston office are part time, and include constituent assistance, policy research and “special projects,” according to the release. In Washington, full-time and part-time internships are available, and interns can expect to help research legislative issues, give tours of the Capitol, attend committee hearings and provide administrative support to Reed and his staff. kgregg@projo.com |
