State Rep. Joseph N. Amaral, R-Tiverton, is also a school principal — and now it’s official.
Amaral served as the interim principal of Portsmouth Middle School this school year. Last Tuesday, the Portsmouth School Committee confirmed his appointment as principal, erasing the “interim” part of the title.
Amaral received official congratulations from his colleagues on the House floor Wednesday.
