Not every restaurant in Rhode Island gets honored by lawmakers when it opens.
But if that restaurant happens to be in Lincoln Park, it gets the royal treatment.
The other week the Senate passed a resolution honoring Lincoln Park’s latest restaurant, an Irish pub called Fado, and wishing it “a bright and prosperous future in Rhode Island.” The restaurant is part of a $220-million expansion and renovation at the track that is expected to be completed late next month.
The resolution said that “an afternoon or evening at Lincoln Greyhound Park has long been feted as entertaining and enjoyable for many Rhode Islanders.” It said that “Rhode Islanders will benefit from not only the recreational aspects of enjoying this new dining experience, but also from the creation of new jobs and added state revenues.”
