House Speaker William J. Murphy, D-West Warwick, and Majority Leader Gordon D. Fox, D-Providence, traveled to Washington, D.C., last week to be at the U.S. Capitol for Sheldon Whitehouse’s swearing-in as Rhode Island’s junior senator. The two were invited by Whitehouse, according to Rhode Island House spokesman Larry Berman, and paid their own way.
