Clark Greene, deputy chief of staff for Governor Carcieri, has accepted a new job: chief of staff and policy director for the state Department of Education. Greene, whose salary will be $121,898 a year, has worked for the state for 14 years, serving former Gov. Lincoln C. Almond for several years before joining Carcieri’s team.

Greene, who lives in East Greenwich, starts his new job Feb. 12. He replaces Jennifer L. Wood, who also served as the education department’s chief legal counsel. Wood is now the general counsel and chief of policy for Lt. Gov. Elizabeth Roberts.
