When Rhode Islanders go to the polls tomorrow to cast their vote in statewide and local elections, not all of them will actually be -- at the polls. As of 2 p.m. this afternoon, there were 687,335 registered voters in Rhode Island. And of that number, 18,125 had requested mail, emergency, overseas and military ballots, according to the Secretary of State’s Office. Those ballots will be counted by the state Board of Elections after all polls close at 9 p.m. tomorrow. Who makes up the average Rhode Island voter? Read today's Journal story on the subject, and see the charts breaking down the local electorate in a variety of demographic categories. -- With reports from Journal staff writer Scott Mayerowitz |
