In the Democratic primary for the Secretary of State, Ralph Mollis was holding a commanding lead over DeRamel with 97 percent of the vote counted.

The unofficial count from the Board of Elections had Mollis leading 39,952 to to 35,679, with 502 of 515 precincts reporting.
